A 22-year-old Minnesota woman who believed she was making a new friend through a dating app was murdered just weeks after meeting a man who refused to accept that she did not want a romantic relationship with him.
Kayli Grace Arseth had clearly explained that she was only interested in friendship, but prosecutors said Jose Luis Lopez Xique, 27, responded to her rejection by tracking her down and fatally shooting her inside her Richfield apartment in June 2025.
