The news last week that Minnesota State Patrol officer Ryan Londregan is being charged in the death of Ricky Cobb is absolutely flabbergasting. For those unfamiliar with this incident, Cobb was pulled over by the State Patrol last July on a traffic stop. After checking his ID, officers discovered Cobb was wanted on an alleged violation of an order of protection. The officers were instructed by Ramsey County officials to arrest Cobb. When they attempted to do so, Cobb tried to drive away, dragging another officer and Londregan himself a short distance. As soon as the car started moving forward, Londregan pulled his gun and shot Cobb twice in the chest.
