Driver Flees Scene After Crashing Into Minneapolis House, Leaving Car and Gun Behind

In a peculiar incident that unfolded in the early hours of Thursday morning, a driver crashed a gray Audi sedan into a residence in the Calhoun Isles community of Minneapolis before fleeing the scene, leaving both the vehicle and a firearm behind. The event transpired at approximately 1:51 a.m. local time, drawing the attention of Minneapolis Police.

According to law enforcement authorities, when officers arrived at the 2400 block of Irving Avenue South, they discovered the aftermath of a vehicular collision that had severely damaged the house, a fence, and a retaining wall. Remarkably, despite the substantial property damage, there were no reported injuries in the incident.

What makes this situation particularly unusual is the fact that the driver had abandoned the vehicle after the crash, with the keys still in the car’s ignition. Furthermore, a handgun was found on the ground in close proximity to the abandoned Audi sedan, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the accident.
