An 18-year-old man died from a self-inflicted gunshot Saturday morning after shooting two older men in a south Minneapolis residence, police have announced.
The shooting happened shortly before 10:50 a.m. on the 3800 block of E. 39 th St. According to a news release from the Minneapolis Police Department, preliminary reports indicate the suspect shot a 57-year-old man and a 54-year-old man before turning the gun on himself.
“The shooter is believed to be the son of the 57-year-old man,” police say.
Both victims are expected to survive. The name of the deceased will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner in the coming days.
“Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting,” the release says.
