A 23-year-old has died after being shot during an altercation outside a north Minneapolis gas station overnight.
The Minneapolis Police Department said the shooting happened at 12:20 a.m. outside of the Marathon gas station at 2600 W. Broadway Ave.
Officers found the victim suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound in the alley behind the gas station. Despite life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation suggests the shooting happened after a verbal altercation escalated.
No arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the man’s name and the cause and nature of his death in the coming days.
An investigation remains active.
