Charges: Man slit fiancée’s throat, led police on pursuit in Princeton before arrest

A Minneapolis man is accused of slicing his fiancée’s throat before leading authorities on a pursuit through Princeton before he was ultimately arrested.

Anthony Dale Robinson, 54, allegedly assaulted the woman on Tuesday at a Princeton residence on 18th Avenue S. The woman needed seven stitches for her throat and survived.

The victim said she and Robinson had been in a serious relationship for two years prior. However, she claimed Robinson “threatened to kill her” in the past and she witnessed Robinson in possession of a handgun several days before the assault.

The woman said she met Robinson at a neutral location because she didn’t want him at her home. According to the criminal complaint, she said the night “went fine” until they went to the home, when Robinson apparently “read something in her diary that made him suspicious of her cheating on him.”

That led to an argument and Robinson smashing the woman’s phone to prevent her from calling 911.

After wounding the woman with a knife, Robinson left the scene but then returned, where he was confronted by responding officers. Police had guns drawn and demanded Robinson to exit the Chevy Tahoe he was driving.
