More than a dozen “similar” robberies over the weekend in Minneapolis

More than a dozen robberies happened Saturday night in Minneapolis, and police are saying many of them were “similar.”

Minneapolis police say most of the 14 robberies happened between 8:00 Saturday night and 1:00 Sunday morning.

The circumstances were similar in which a group of suspects exited a vehicle and robbed pedestrians. In most cases, victims described groups of three to six juveniles or young adults, men and women, wearing dark clothing and masks.

Guns were reportedly seen in most cases, with the robbers taking purses, wallets, and cellphones. Some also reported assaults.

Minneapolis Police Department officials say all precincts and other law enforcement agencies have been alerted of the robbery trend.
