Police are investigating the death of a man found dead near Highway 61 in St. Paul over the weekend.
The discovery was made around 10:45 a.m. Saturday where the highway intersects at Point Douglas Road, about a mile north of Lower Afton Road, according to the St. Paul Police Department.
Police said the body was found in the roadside brush by a group who’d gathered to memorialize a family member killed in a crash at that location one year ago.
Police secured the scene with crime scene tape Saturday and homicide investigators were called in to assist.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to identify the man and determine his cause of death.
There were no updates in the investigation as of Monday.
