Madonna helps raise money for local LGBTQ organization in Twin Cities

Madonna will be doing more than just entertaining fans tonight. She’s here to also raise money for a local LGBTQ organization.

Rainbow Wardrobe provides free gender-affirming clothing and personal hygiene products to those in need in the Twin Cities.  It’s run out of the Twin Cities Pride office in Minneapolis.

Executive director Andi Otto says the program reaches the most vulnerable in the LGBTQ community.

“It serves anybody in our community who either financially can’t support buying new clothing or, you know, sometimes it’s just more comfortable to go try on clothes in an environment where you’re not feeling judged or just an open and accepting environment,” says Otto.

Otto says their program was handpicked by Madonna’s team.

“So, she has asked her concertgoers to bring a personal care item, donate financially or bring an article of clothing to the concert and drop it in our bins or scan our QR code and make a financial contribution,” says Otto.

He adds that the support from Madonna will help them continue their work in the process will help save lives.
