MINNEAPOLIS — A NEXT Weather Alert has been issued for Wednesday evening due to the potential for several inches of snow as well as slippery roads. The alert is for the southern half of the state, as well as western Wisconsin.
The forecast high in the Twin Cities is 40 degrees, with a little bit of sunshine earlier in the day. Things will change in the afternoon when a quick-moving storm arrives.

For much of southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, a winter weather advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. Wednesday to 3 a.m. Thursday. But to the west, from Hutchinson to Mankato, the alert begins earlier at noon.
Snow chances increase significantly in the latter half of the afternoon.
