Jellybean & Julia’s BBQ in Anoka has officially announced its closing date ahead of its move to Coon Rapids.
The restaurant said in a social media post its final day of business will be Sunday, Feb. 25.
The BBQ spot announced its plans in December , seeing it move to 2501 Coon Rapids Blvd. where its seating capacity will be doubled. The new building is the former home of Grumpy’s Bar & Grill.
In the announcement on Wednesday, co-owners Koli Fyten Swap and Cory Swap said an official opening date for the new restaurant isn’t yet known.
“When we know, you will know,” they add.
The move is a 10-minute drive from the Anoka location at 530 W. Main Street, which was set to close once it ran out of food supplies.
Catering orders already requested will be fulfilled but the business isn’t taking any additional orders for the time being.
According to its website, the restaurant serves up homemade recipes, ranging from its sauces to BBQ entrees. Jellybean & Julia’s also offers its homemade BBQ sauces for sale, licensed through University of California-Davis, the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal first reported .
