Four teenagers have been charged in connection to a spate of robberies reported in the city over the past week.
Four boys aged 16 and 17 have been charged in two separate incidents in the city, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.
In the first, a group of teens arranged to meet a victim at in the early hours of Wednesday at 41st Avenue North and Aldrich Avenue North, having contacted him through Facebook Marketplace to arrange the sale of a dog.
When they met, the youths stole $6,000 from the victim and a Grey Goose bottle sleeve containing the victim’s ID, before fleeing in a gold Cadillac.
The victim flagged down police officers who quickly found the Cadillac, which eventually stopped as police were following on Camden Avenue North. Three teens ran northbound on foot while police detained the driver.
One of the teens who fled on foot was arrested after being found at a gas station.
The driver, Tyrell Deshawn Smith, 17, and the teen found at the gas station, Justavion Ferrell White, 17, have both been charged with 1st-degree aggravated robbery.
