Minnesota Woman Faces Felony for Fleeing Police in Eagan

EAGAN, MINNESOTA – According to a criminal complaint released by the Dakota County Attorney’s Office, a Crystal, Minnesota woman is facing Felony Fleeing a Peace Officer in a Motor Vehicle after officers with the Eagan Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding.

The criminal complaint states that an officer on routine patrol along Lone Oak Road spotted a truck traveling eastbound at 72 mph in a 45 mph zone, 27 mph over the posted speed limit. The officer activated their lights and accelerated to catch up to the truck to perform a traffic stop when the officer saw the truck take a quick turn on eastbound Apollo Road and continue to flee the officer. The officer clocked the truck nearing speeds of 80 mph as it was fleeing from them. While fleeing, the truck passed a vehicle coming into the opposing traffic lane and failed to stop at a stop sign at Mike Collins Drive. The truck eventually came to a sudden stop in the 3100 block of Mike Collins Drive, where backup arrived to assist in the stop and detention of the truck.
