Matthew Phillip Ecker, 45, from Fergus Falls has been found guilty in the shooting death of his girlfriend in her St. Paul Apartment. After an eight-day trial it took a Ramsey county jury, just seven hours to convict Ecker, of the Second-Degree Murder of 32-year old Alexandra Lee Penning. Penning was shot in the head on December 16th, 2022, in her St. Paul apartment.
