Body found in vacant Minneapolis building; homicide investigation underway

A man was found shot to death in a vacant building on Minneapolis’ south side Friday night.

Minneapolis police say officers responded to reports of a dead body in a vacant residential building on the 1500 block of Park Ave around 10:20 p.m. Inside, they located the body of an unidentified man with a fatal gunshot wound.

The Minneapolis Police Forensic Division as well as homicide detectives responded to the scene; an investigation is now underway.

There’s no word yet on the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, and no arrests have been made.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the man’s name in the coming days.
