Dodge Charger rams into squad car during high-speed pursuit

A suspect was arrested after hitting a squad car and fleeing Hennepin County law enforcement.

The incident occurred during a recent “Focused Enforcement Detail” by the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office’s Violent Officer Task Force, which was targeting “violent crime in Minneapolis and surrounding area.”

According to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office, a Dodge Charger fleeing from multiple agencies had pulled into a driveway in an attempt to evade police.

Task force detectives attempted to take the suspect into custody, but the suspect rammed into a squad car before fleeing at a high speed through the streets of Brooklyn Park.

A State Patrol helicopter followed the car until it pulled into a garage on the 7500 block of Maplebrook Parkway. There, law enforcement negotiated on the phone with the suspect, who had barricaded himself in a home.

The suspect, identified as a 28-year-old man, was eventually taken into custody and is facing charges of felony fleeing police in a motor vehicle and felony obstructing the legal process.
