Shakopee mother charged in baby’s fatal fentanyl overdose

A Shakopee woman has been charged over the 2022 death of her infant child, who was found to have fentanyl in his system.

According to the charges filed Thursday in a Ramsey County district court, 29-year-old Wynona Ann Littlewolf and her boyfriend were staying at a Doubletree hotel in Roseville when they awoke to find the baby “purple.”

They left in their SUV to find help but got lost as “they were not familiar with the area.” They ended up stopping at Metro Metals on Doswell Ave. in St. Paul, where tow truck drivers called 911 for them.

Medics responded and pronounced AL dead at the scene, reporting that the baby was “already in rigor mortis” and that his body seemed “abnormally cold,” indicating he had been dead for some time before first responders arrived, the charges say.

Officers noted that both Littlewolf and her boyfriend, identified in court documents as “CM,” were “shaken up and in distress” at the scene.

Following the infant’s death, police obtained a search warrant and investigated their hotel room at Doubletree, where, according to the charges, they found evidence of drug use:
