Alamo Drafthouse in Woodbury will reopen this summer

Woodbury’s Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, which abruptly closed earlier this month , has announced plans to reopen the theater later this summer.

The Woodbury location closed when the franchisee, Two is One, One is None, LLC, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The company operated the Minnesota theater and five locations in Texas. As Bring Me the News reported previously, the theater chain quickly began working on plans to reopen those locations.

No date is set for the reopening, which will include a week-long soft opening with promotions and discounts.

The company, which was acquired by Sony on June 12 , says that all six locations will open “in rapid succession.” Additionally, it says that all staff at the six locations “will be made whole for lost wages that they were owed prior to the closures.”

It will also offer affected staff members first access to interviews for open positions. If re-hired, they’ll get “a more robust benefits plan with immediate eligibility, including access to daily pay, substantial 401K match, paid medical leave, accrued PTO, [and] free mental health services.”
