EAGAN, MINNESOTA—A serious accident at the intersection of Highway 55 and Lexington Avenue on Saturday, June 29, 2024, resulted in road closures and a significant emergency response. Around 3:05 PM, emergency personnel were called to the crash scene involving two vehicles.
Reports from the scene indicate that a black Volkswagen and a black Lincoln MKX were involved in the collision, and serious injuries were reported. A witness, who identified himself as a physician, stopped to assist the injured individuals in the Volkswagen. According to this witness, the driver of the Lincoln MKX might have fled the scene on foot immediately after the crash. We can confirm that at least two were taken away in ambulances, but we are not sure about their condition.
Law enforcement presence was notable at the crash site and at a location approximately 800 feet further south on Highway 55, near the Budget Inn and Suites. While the connection between the two scenes is unconfirmed, Eagan Police Officers were observed searching the grass and ditch areas leading to the second scene.
