Tuesday morning shooting in St. Paul leaves one man dead

A man was fatally shot in St. Paul early Tuesday morning.

St. Paul officers were called to the 1200 block of University Avenue West around 12:30 a.m. after a 911 caller reported hearing shots fired and saw a person lying on the ground.

When officers arrived, they found the man towards the back of an apartment building, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. St. Paul Fire medics responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators are working to find out what led to this man’s death and who is responsible. No arrests have been made at this time.

The victim’s identity will be released at a later time. According to police, this is St. Paul’s 18th homicide of the year.
