Vikings pass rusher has chance to accomplish rare feat vs. Packers

The Minnesota Vikings are off to a fantastic 3-0 start thanks mostly to the offseason acquisitions made by general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. They have been wreaking havoc on opposing offenses and defenses and have likely vaulted him in the executive of the year award.

The biggest aspect of the Vikings’ success has been the defense, specifically at edge rusher. Jonathan Greenard had his major breakout game against his former team the Houston Texans and the other high-profile signing Andrew Van Ginkel has a chance to do something that hasn’t been done since 2019.

Andrew Van Ginkel has chance to reach impressive feat

Andrew Van Ginkel has had a sack in each of the first three games of the season. With a sack on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, he would be the first non-rookie since 2019 to record a sack in each of his first four games with a team.

It’s been an impressive start to his tenure with the Vikings. He’s stepped into Brian Flores’ defense for the second time in his career and thrived. He can drop, rush the passer and be a looper in stunts and contributed to the Vikings getting a league-high 16.0 sacks this season.
