Minnetonka High on lockdown, large police response to ‘suspicious person’

There is a police presence at Minnetonka High School, which is on lockdown due to a “suspicious person.”

Minnetonka Police Department said Tuesday morning that it’s responding to a suspicious person report, and that the school “is currently on lockdown while we respond to verify the report.”

Jeff Erickson, the Principal at Minnetonka High School, sent an email out to parents, confirming that all students were safely held inside their classrooms during the incident, and that the hallways and commons areas were cleared.

Due to the increased amount of police being sent to the school, traffic on Highway 7 is currently backed up.

Police have asked the community to stay away from the area.
