Woodbury police investigating woman’s death as a possible homicide

Woodbury police are investigating a woman’s death Wednesday morning as a possible homicide, with a man currently being held in custody.

According to police, paramedics were called to the 500 block of Woodduck Drive at 8:36 a.m. for a medical emergency. When they arrived, public safety officials performed lifesaving measures on Samia Amare Al Ahad, 29, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are actively investigating “all possibilities” of how Al Ahad died. While there has been no update on what caused her death, police did confirm they arrested a 27-year-old man on Wednesday for probable cause 2nd-degree murder.

Formal charges have not yet been filed. Woodbury Public Safety is actively investigating this case with the help of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
