17-year-old motorcyclist killed in Burnsville crash

A 17-year-old was killed when he ran a red light and crashed his motorcycle in Burnsville Thursday.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner confirmed that 17-year-old Peter Vsevolod Genis, of Burnsville, died at the scene of the crash from blunt force head injuries.

According to the Minnesota Star Tribune , an SUV was turning left from westbound Burnsville Parkway to northbound Interstate 35W at around 7:30 p.m. when Genis ran a red light while traveling east, striking the SUV.

Both the driver and passenger of the SUV were reportedly uninjured.
