Men sentenced for selling drugs that led to two fatal overdoses

Two men have been sentenced to prison after they sold the meth that led to two fatal overdoses in St. Louis County.

Bryan Joseph Hodapp, 37, of Gilbert and Dylan Adrian Day, 34, of Minneapolis were sentenced in U.S. District Court earlier this week. Hodapp received 160 months in prison, while Day received 175 months in prison.

On May 7, 2022, multiple agencies responded to a report of suspected overdose on the 4700 block of Chestnut Drive in Biwabik Township.

Mitchell Dale Saltzman, 41, of Virginia, and Raymond John Lossing, 55, of Cook. were pronounced dead at the scene after being found by family members, while two women were taken to the hospital.

An investigation later found that Hodapp had facilitated a meth deal between Saltzman and Day. Saltzman and one of the women then traveled to the Twin Cities to complete the transaction.
