American Swedish Institute unveils its 2025 exhibition schedule

A lot of art is coming to the castle.

The American Swedish Institute has unveiled its exhibition lineup for 2025, which will include photographer Lars Tunbjörk, Somalia-born Swedish artist and filmmaker Salad Hilowle, and the largest presentation of Ann Wolff’s work put together outside of Sweden.

“As we enter 2025, ASI is thrilled to host these internationally acclaimed artists and curators, whose exhibitions will foster meaningful dialogue between art, place, and people,” Molly Steenson, President & CEO of the ASI, said in a statement.

“These exhibitions not only celebrate their contributions to the global art scene but also deepen our understanding of identity, memory, and the human experience.”

As the calendar flips over, the ASI will open “A View From The Side,” an exhibition of photographs by Tunbjörk, who died in 2015 at age 59. The exhibit, curated by the Embassy of Sweden in Washington, DC, showcases his “warmth, humor, deep exploration of loneliness, and the search for meaning.” It opens on Jan. 11 and runs through Feb. 9.
