A suspect has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in Savage that reportedly stemmed from a road rage incident.
On Friday, the Savage Police Department announced it had arrested the suspect at his home in Shakopee, and he has been booked into jail on charges including 2nd-degree attempted murder and 2nd-degree assault in connection with the Monday shooting.
SPD says it responded to a report of a shooting on the 13100 block of Independence Avenue just before noon on Monday.
At the scene, officers found one victim suffering from non-life threatening injuries. The victim was then taken to the hospital.
KSTP reports that the victim is an employee of the pest control company EcoShield, who was in his work truck at the time and said the suspect started following him in his vehicle, and started shooting at him after pulling alongside.
“This violent incident spurred an immediate and coordinated response by law enforcement agencies,” SPD Chief Brady Juell said in a statement.
