Kyrie Irving Sounds Off on ‘Personal’ Clash Against Timberwolves

The Dallas Mavericks made it three wins in four games to start the new season after they scored a huge 120-114 road win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night.

Kyrie Irving went off in this one to lead the Mavs to victory with a team-high 35 points on 13-of-23 shooting, to go along with four rebounds, five assists and a steal in 39 minutes of action. The eight-time All-Star caught fire from beyond the arc in this one, knocking down six out of his eight attempts from deep.

After the game, NBA on TNT’s Stephanie Ready caught up with the man of the hour as she asked Irving to share his thoughts on the Mavs’ statement win. The 6-foot-2 guard heaped praise on the “resilient” Wolves as he sounded off on what this victory means to him and the rest of his team.

“We know this team very well, they know us very well,” Irving said of Minnesota. “So we knew it was going to be a personal one, emotions high. Just grateful that we came in here and got the dub.”
