The police officer who re-enacted George Floyd’s murder in front of students while substituting at Woodbury High School has reportedly involuntarily resigned from his Wisconsin department.
Officer Steve Williams of the Prescott Police Department has involuntarily resigned from his position effective Friday, according to a separation agreement obtained by FOX9 . Williams will receive severance as part of the agreement. The agreement also states that Williams cannot be reemployed by the City of Prescott.
Williams was working as a substitute teacher at Woodbury High School in October when he was recorded using a student to reenact the police killing of George Floyd .
According to an email sent out to parents, Williams also allegedly made racist and sexist comments and stated that “police brutality isn’t real,” among other things.
The City of Prescott issued a statement in mid-October following the allegations, saying: “The City of Prescott and the Prescott Police Department find the current allegations, if true, made against Mr. Williams to be very disturbing, reprehensible, and we in no way condone his actions.”
