Mall of America unveils Black Friday plans, including the return of its Mystery Cards

Unsurprisingly, the Mall of America has big plans for Black Friday .

After being closed for Thanksgiving, the MoA will open at 7 a.m. on Nov. 29, unleashing hoards of excited shoppers across the mall. Its celebration will include giveaways, deals, and entertainment.

As part of the MoA’s plans for the shopping-centric holiday, it’ll bring back its Black Friday Mystery Cards. Guests entering through the north entrance will be handed one of those mystery cards when the doors open, promising each lottery ticket holder some kind of prize.

The cards have three levels of prizes. The silver prizes, the lowest level, will be given out by retailers. Gold prizes will be handed out at the dedicated Gold Redemption Center.

The top prize is the Doorbusters level, doled out in a space called the Doorbuster Zone, intended to induce nostalgia for the days of feverish doorbuster deals. When a winner heads to the Zone, they’ll see a “Doorbuster character” bust through an actual door to hand out a prize that could carry up to a $600 value.
