A bicyclist was seriously injured after crashing into a car in South St. Paul Friday afternoon.
According to the South St. Paul Police Department, officers responded to a crash involving a bicyclist near the intersection of 15th Avenue North and Wentworth Avenue just after 2 p.m.
At the scene, officers learned that a motorist was traveling south on 15th Avenue North when it was struck broadside by a bicyclist.
The bicyclist was reportedly traveling east on Wentworth Avenue and had passed through a stop sign.
The bicyclist, identified as a 58-year-old St. Paul man, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The driver, identified as 61-year-old Bloomington man, is cooperating with the investigation, according to the department.
Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
