BISMARCK, N.D. ( KXNET ) — The United States Postal Service has successfully delivered its 9.5 billionth seasonal mailpiece, just in time for Christmas Eve.
According to a press release from the USPS, the milestone package was delivered by letter carrier Craig Barrett in St. Paul, Minnesota.
“It’s an honor to be part of this historic moment,” said Barrett. in the release “This reflects the hard work and dedication of every USPS employee who ensures that each package and letter reaches its destination.”

Likewise, the package’s recipient — Kate Larson — states that she was honored to be a part of the event, and took the opportunity to thank delivery drivers for their hard work.
“It’s incredible to think about how much goes into making all of this happen,” she says in the release. “Thank you to all the postal workers for making this season so special.”
