A 21-year-old man died after being shot in north Minneapolis on Friday evening.
Minneapolis PD says shots were fired at 6:20 p.m. in the area of the 3200 block of Fremont Avenue North, and arrived to find the victim with life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Lifesaving measures were performed and the victim was taken to North Memorial Medical Center, where he later died.
As of late Friday, no arrests have been made and no information has been provided regarding suspects.
It marks the first homicide in Minneapolis of 2025. There were 76 in total in 2024, up from 72 the year prior.
MPD Chief Brian O’Hara is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. The victim’s identity will be released at a later time by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
