North Minneapolis gang member sentenced to 14 years in prison for RICO conspiracy

MINNEAPOLIS — A member of the Minneapolis Highs gang was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for his role in a racketeering (RICO) conspiracy between November 2022 and March 2023.

Deandre Poe, 35, was a member of the Highs street gang out of north Minneapolis when prosecutors say he participated in an extensive fentanyl trafficking operation involving Arizona-based suppliers. According to court documents, Poe made several trips to Phoenix, where he mailed at least four “bulk” packages of fentanyl back to Minneapolis.

Poe, who pleaded guilty to one count of engaging in RICO conspiracy, was also sentenced to four years of supervised release following his prison sentence…
