Laundry day took an unexpected turn at a Minneapolis apartment complex, where a pair of suspects were caught burglarizing the laundry room. According to a social media post by the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD), the property owner was observing the criminal activity live via security cameras. The owner witnessed the thieves in real-time as they pilfered change from washing machines and even attempted to conceal their actions by taping over the camera.
MPD officers were dispatched and quickly arrived at the scene. Initiating a brisk foot chase, law enforcement personnel succeeded in apprehending both individuals. The MPD shared that the evidence found on-site connected the suspects to “multiple other burglaries,” revealing an expansive series of thefts. In a surprising haul, the officers not only uncovered tools associated with burglary but, “lots and lots of change,” the department’s statement detailed.
