Elk River police report: Woman out $150,000 after online relationship goes south; grass fire burns near home

A 66-year-old Elk River woman told police she has lost more than $150,000 after an online relationship now appears to be fraudulent.

The woman was initially contacted by an unidentified person through social media.

“The unidentified person continued communication with the victim over an extended period of time, eventually claiming to be romantically interested in the complainant.
