Homeless encampments disappearing in Minneapolis

(Minneapolis, MN) — Minneapolis police officials have confirmed that homeless encampments are down after the city put forth a special order after safety concerns arose. The mayor and police chief have taken a proactive approach to get the number of people living at these encampments down. Police chief Brian O’Hara said there were 15 homicides at encampments last year and change had to be made. Now, the largest encampment around the city has a total of four people.
