A winter storm is underway in Minnesota, already dumping a few inches of snow in the southern half of the state, while up to a foot is possible in the north by the end of Wednesday.
The Twin Cities was only expecting an inch or two or slushy, wet snow but it appears that a higher amount ultimately fell as a heavy band unfolded Tuesday evening. The highest reading in the metro so far came from Minneapolis, where 3.5 inches was recorded.
It will be the north of the state that will see the biggest hammering on Wednesday, with snow expected to continue steadily throughout the day, potentially growing stronger in early afternoon…
