The Minneapolis man accused of shooting his neighbor following an alleged year-long campaign of harassment has been found incompetent to stand trial.
Court documents filed by the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office on Wednesday in Hennepin County state that it has retained a second doctor who found 54-year-old John Sawchak incompetent to stand trial, a conclusion also reached by another doctor in January.
The second and most recent doctor also evaluated Sawchak in 2016 and 2017, the first of which led to Sawchak being ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial in another criminal case. Court documents show Sawchak had a 2013 criminal case dismissed for the same reason.
