Monticello man arrested after allegedly driving to jail drunk

BUFFALO — After driving himself to jail to begin serving a criminal sentence, a Monticello man was found to be heavily intoxicated, authorities said, and now faces two DWI charges.

Matthew Maras, a 42-year-old Monticello resident, was arrested on drunken driving charges at the Wright County Law Enforcement Center in Buffalo on April 4, according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

Maras arrived at the law enforcement center that morning to begin serving a 90-day jail sentence on a domestic-abuse conviction, related to violating a protective order, a misdemeanor, according to court documents…
