ST PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota state workers are just weeks away from a new policy requiring employees to be in-person in the office at least half the time, but now part of that order has seen a change.
Initially, workers living more than 75 miles away from their primary work location were exempt from the policy. Now, that is 50 miles away.
Gov. Tim Walz announced in March the policy will go into effect June 1, noting that 60% of state workers are already working in-person. He said having employees in the office means that collaboration can happen more quickly.
