8 people charged for allegedly stealing nearly $200K in pull tab funds

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Eight men are facing racketeering charges after they stole more than $197,000 in pull tab proceeds which were intended for Minnesota charities and organizations.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) shared in a press release Monday that the charges include 44 burglaries and attempted burglaries between March 6, 2023, and Feb. 22, 2024. The men allegedly stole from bars and restaurants in the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota, including $22,000 from the Wild Boar in Hopkins and $18,000 from Cowboy Jack’s in Otsego.

Prosecutors say the racketeering scheme was led by 50-year-old Arron Scott King Sr. out of his home in St. Paul. The men found information on target businesses and used pry bars and sledgehammers to break into buildings and open safes that stored pull tab proceeds, according to charges…
