72nd person charged in connection with Feeding Our Future

MINNEAPOLIS — An Apple Valley woman is charged after federal prosecutors say she claimed and received reimbursements for meals at two child nutrition program sites under the sponsorship of Feeding Our Future.

Dorothy Jean Moore, 57, faces three counts of wire fraud and two counts of money laundering after prosecutors say she used little of the federal taxpayer money she received for its intended purpose of feeding children through two nutrition programs. The charges were announced Friday by U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson, making her the 72nd defendant in the $250 million Feeding Our Future fraud case.

“This fraud is outrageous, brazen, and seemingly never-ending,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson in a press release. “As Acting United States Attorney, I intend to put the full weight of this office behind rooting out and prosecuting the shocking and unacceptable levels of fraud in Minnesota.”…
