Minneapolis Police Arrest 92 in ‘Operation Safe Summer’ Crackdown, Seize Guns and Recover Stolen Vehicles

The Minneapolis Police Department, in conjunction with a slew of agency partners, has undertaken a decisive crackdown on crime in the city with the initiation of Operation Safe Summer. According to the Minneapolis Police Department’s social media post, the operation was launched last week as a proactive stance against the presumed uptick in summer crime rates, and the results have been notable.

During the initial phase of the operation, 92 suspects were arrested on charges ranging from illegal gun possession to drug trafficking and auto theft. Amongst the goods recovered were 12 stolen vehicles and approximately $20,000 in cash, bringing to the streets a formidable law enforcement presence. A total of 25 guns have also been confiscated, underscoring the commitment to temper the violence potentially threatened by warmer months.
