Minneapolis is getting a dose of cultural celebration this Juneteenth, as the Soul of the Southside Festival takes over the intersection of Lake and Minnehaha. Ward 9 Councilmember Jason Chavez spread the word with a social media post, inviting the community to immerse themselves in an event dedicated to Black culture and liberation from 12PM to 8PM.
“Happy Juneteenth, Minneapolis! Make sure to stop by Lake and Minnehaha today from 12PM-8PM for the Soul of the Southside Festival,” Chavez wrote.
Attendees can expect a vibrant display of artistic talent, with music that promises to lift the soul and food that tells a story of heritage with every bite. It’s not only a feast for the senses but also an educational journey that celebrates the monumental contributions of Black Americans.
