Minneapolis Police Nab Suspected Drug Dealer With Aid of High-Tech Surveillance and Community Tips

Minneapolis streets are a little safer today after the arrest of a suspected drug dealer, thanks to a blend of modern technology and vigilant community members. The Minneapolis Police Department’s use of a mobile camera system played a crucial role in the capture, employing their Southside Community React Team (SSCRT) after receiving a citizen’s tip about suspicious activity.

Detailing the incident on their Facebook page, the department explained how officers swiftly installed the mobile camera near 25th Street West and Lyndale Avenue South. The suspect was observed making several hand-to-hand transactions and was thus identified. At the scene, the officers, deploying a well-coordinated operation, managed to stop the suspect’s vehicle and arrest him without any trouble.

This strategic capture led to the confiscation of a significant amount of drugs and nearly $7,000 in cash.
