An overnight crash on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis resulted in a significant car fire and debris scattered on the freeway, but only minor injuries have been reported.
The wreck happened around 12:15 a.m. on westbound I-94 between Exit 236 and Huron Boulevard. Video of the crash from MnDOT traffic cameras via SafetyVid.org shows the moment of impact and the ensuing car fire, which sent a plume of black smoke into the air.
According to the State Patrol, the car that burst into flames was a Toyota Corolla, which made contact with concrete barriers in an area of road work. The barriers were shoved out of place, resulting in some eastbound vehicles to hit the barriers. …
