Blaine Sees Significant Drop in Serious Crimes, according to Year 2024 Police Report

Residents of Blaine can breathe a little easier as the Blaine Police Department reports a notable downturn in serious crimes for the year 2024. According to a social media post from the department, their officers responded to over 55,000 calls for service last year but saw a significant 15.76 percent decrease in Part I Crimes—considered the most serious offenses—when compared to the year prior.

This positive shift is a reflection of ongoing efforts by the local law enforcement to address and prevent high-impact criminal activity in the area. The slight uptick of 3.77 percent in less serious crimes, also known as Part II Crimes, is seen running counter to the more critical statistics, arguably painting a complex but cautiously optimistic picture of the community’s safety landscape.
