Owner of Minneapolis’ beloved ‘Tulip House’ dies

The woman behind beloved “Tulip House” in southwest Minneapolis died last month, according to an obituary.

Lisa Ann Stortz, an avid gardener, planted and maintained thousands of bulbs in her yard at 25th Street and Humboldt Avenue South for all to enjoy each spring. She bought the century-old home near Lake of the Isles in 2014, property records show.

Stortz’s yard also features a Free Little Library replica of her home and squirrel tableaus.

“Lisa will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched,” he family wrote in an obituary. “She lived a life overflowing with joy, kindness, and generosity; a constant reminder that life is meant to be celebrated.”…
