At least two local police departments are investigating recent strings of theft and vandalism to vehicles.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, almost 100 reports of vehicle break-ins and damage were received over a two-day period last week, then over 70 additional vehicles had their windows smashed between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Investigators are working to determine whether the two incidents are related. Their work includes reviewing reports to identify and analyze trends throughout the Twin Cities and monitoring social media posts related to vehicle damage.
